Who We Are

Maria Yee, Inc. is a U.S. company with an international reputation for handcrafted furniture and a new favorite in lifestyle design. Unlike others, Maria Yee creates pieces that are unique to the home furnishings market through its proprietary BreathingJoinery™ technique and innovative materials such as BambooTimbre™. Every Maria Yee EcoLuxury™ piece is one-of-a-kind. Each piece is personal. At Maria Yee, our motto is “One customer and one unique piece at a time.”

Serving our Communities

At home in California, Maria Yee employees enjoy competitive pay, 401K plan and company contribution, flexible work hours tailored to each employee's needs as well as health insurance for the whole family, with the company paying 99% of each person's insurance premium. We support our schools, hospital and various charities.

In China, Maria Yee employees are paid living wages with retirement benefits, subsidized room and board plus on the job training. We also work with local communities to better the environment and their livelihood.

When we pioneered making solid BambooTimbre™ furniture, we educated and treated the bamboo farmers fairly and with respect. Prior to our inventive endeavor, bamboo products consisted primarily of commodities such as chopsticks and mats. Local government praised that we maximized the economic value of bamboo and raised the living standard.

In 2007, Maria Yee began working with aid organization Assist International to help establish the first-ever cardiology department in a hospital in rural China. U.S. Rotary District 5170, the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Hong Kong, the Wheelchair Foundation, and others also joined the effort.

Maria Yee led the group to select a small hospital in the heart of one of the largest bamboo growing areas in China. State-of-the-art medical system was donated and installed, doctors were trained, and 200 wheelchairs were distributed. The project was completed in May 2008.
